CanadaAppWT manuals across Canada
Canada is the closest market to the AppWT desk and the one where the cross border friction usually shows up. Buying a book from an American publisher normally means a parcel, a broker and a wait. None of that applies here, because every one of the 87 titles is available as a file rather than an object. Selected titles also come as a printed paperback for readers who want one, and that edition does ship to Canada.
The three things that actually differ for a Canadian buyer
The border stops mattering, on the PDF edition
A printed book ordered from Michigan becomes an import the moment it is boxed. A PDF never does. Choose the PDF and there is no shipment, so no customs entry, no brokerage fee and no delivery estimate to watch. Choose the printed paperback and it travels as a parcel like any other book. The PDF arrives attached to the confirmation email, and a separate email carries a secure download link that stays live for 30 days.
The card is billed in US dollars
Checkout is denominated in US dollars, so a Canadian card is authorized in US dollars and the issuing bank applies the conversion. The rate and any foreign transaction charge belong to the bank, not to AppWT, so the exact figure on a Canadian statement is set by the issuer. AppWT does not quote a Canadian dollar equivalent for that reason.
The language is English only
Every title is written in English. For an Ontario or Alberta reader that is a non issue. For a Quebec operator, or any bilingual workplace that documents its procedures in French, it is a genuine gap and it is better said here than discovered after purchase. There is no French edition at present.
On the content itself. The manuals describe operating method rather than statute. The way a procedure is written, tested and handed to a team travels across the border intact. Anything touching payroll, labour standards or tax filing is written to American practice, so a Canadian reader should verify those specifics against provincial and federal rules before adopting them.
Provinces on file
These are the provinces where AppWT holds researched detail on individual municipalities rather than the province as a whole. The territories, along with Prince Edward Island, are currently held at the regional level only and are not listed below.
| Province | Cities and towns | Examples on file |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | 15 | Barrie, Greater Sudbury, Guelph, Hamilton, Kingston |
| British Columbia | 8 | Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Prince George, Surrey |
| Quebec | 8 | Gatineau, Laval, Montreal, Quebec City, Rimouski |
| Alberta | 6 | Banff, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat |
| Saskatchewan | 4 | Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon |

| New Brunswick | 3 | Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John |

Common questions
Is there duty or a customs charge on a Canadian order?
Not on the PDF edition. A file has nothing to clear, so there is no parcel, no brokerage to pay and no waiting on a courier at the frontier. The printed paperback edition is different: it is a real shipment to a Canadian address, and normal import handling applies to it the way it would to any book posted from the United States.
What currency is a Canadian card charged in?
US dollars. Checkout is denominated in US dollars for every market, so a card issued in Canada is billed in US dollars and the issuer applies its own conversion rate. Some issuers also add their own foreign transaction charge, which is set by the bank rather than by AppWT.
Are the manuals available in French?
Not at present. Every title is written in English only. That is a real limitation in Quebec and in any bilingual workplace, and it is stated plainly here rather than left for a buyer to discover after paying.
Will a manual print properly on a Canadian printer?
Yes. Canada uses US Letter as its standard office sheet, the same 8.5 by 11 inches the pages were set on. A Canadian office prints a manual at full size with no scaling, which is not true of the British and Australian markets.
Which provinces does AppWT hold local detail for?
Local business detail is on file for 9 provinces covering 53 cities and towns. The territories and Prince Edward Island are held at the regional level only, without individual municipalities on file yet.
